As promised, I wanted to share the latest photo of the daffodils I’ve been chronicling in previous posts. Here’s a photo from today:
It’s important to note that there are so many more daffodils that my little iPhone camera failed to capture. Please understand that we (flowers included) were battered with severe storms last week; with the exception of a few daffodils that went down for the count, the rest of them remained upright – despite the blustery weather.
In case you’ve forgotten, here’s my photo log of the daffodils to date:
Sad flower 😦
And you know what? All of this growth came after a great deal of severe weather and other harsh conditions. The daffodils aren’t just pretty – they’re strong. I take this as proof that we can all grow as we weather the storms of life. Growth is a choice.
Here is my prayer for today: Thanks, Lord, for continuing to unfold this beautiful story of the daffodils. Nothing seems to get them down – not for long, anyway. Help me to remember that I am so much more than a daffodil! When things get me down, remind me that it’s just temporary, and that this “bad weather” serves a purpose – it helps me to grow, and my roots get deeper. And I want to grow, because if I don’t, then it means that I’ve become stagnant. Who wants that?
Thanks again for the way that You reveal Yourself through creation – it’s quite exciting, really. 🙂 In Your name I pray, Amen.
