The Good Samaritan Quarterback

Let me qualify this post by saying that I’m not exactly what you would call a football fan (I think it’s called “gridiron” or American football in the Commonwealth countries). I’ve been to a couple of games, and have found them painfully slow. However, I digress. On to the main event:

Today, I’m grateful for this heartwarming story. It’s not my personal story, but I believe it’s one definitely worth sharing. If you’re able, take the two or three minutes it will require for you read the story – you won’t regret it.

I’m reminded that God has His children everywhere – even in the NFL! 😀

It’s remarkable to me the extent to which God will go in order to arrange these “divine appointments”. It reminds me that He has a heart for everyone, and will arrange special circumstances just to let people know how much He loves and cares for them.

Here is my prayer for today: Dear God, this seems to be a week of miracles – big and small. Thank You for sharing this wonderful story with me – I love how You are active in the small and ordinary details of our lives, and You create life-changing opportunities for meaningful connections to form – even among strangers.

As Christ followers, we believe that You are sovereignly in control of all things at all times, and therefore we know that this meeting with the quarterback and the man in the car was nobody’s coincidence. We don’t believe in coincidences! I praise You, God, for being totally and completely in control of everything, all the time. In Your name I pray, Amen.
