I was out running errands recently, and happened upon this license plate frame. I really liked it, so I decided to snap a quick photo l (and redact the license plate information for privacy reasons).
Anyway, I decided to use that license plate frame (which reads, “Worship God alone”) to highlight a verse from the Old Testament that really speaks to me:
Isn’t this a powerful passage of Scripture? Just think about it: God spends all of His time looking for ways to “strongly” support His children. What an encouragement!
The way I see it, if I strive to do what the license plate frame says, then God responds with the truth found in 2 Chronicles 16:9a. Notice the keywords in both the license plate frame and the Scripture:
- “Worship God alone“
- “… that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His.”
It sure seems to me that God is looking for evidence of our commitment to Him. When He sees this, then He responds in kind – with the resources that only an all-knowing, all-powerful, and totally sovereign God can offer.
It’s a pretty good deal, isn’t it?
Here’s my prayer for today: Dear Lord, thank You for Your loyalty and unswerving commitment to my well-being and spiritual development.
All things considered, I think Your request is quite reasonable – if I focus my attention on You principally, then You will respond in kind.
Thank You for faithfully offering Your strong support – I so desperately need this divine encouragement each day! In Your name I pray, Amen.
