Glad Tidings

In a blog post from last week, I shared that I had received some concerning news from my doctor. I want to let you know how much I appreciate those of you who shared thoughtful comments and prayer intentions with me – your kindness really means a lot!

I now have an update: I’m delighted to report that the news from my doctor was good. I have no need to be concerned at this point in time, and yes – I am extremely relieved!

I want to give the Lord all the praise and glory for walking with me during this time, and for equipping me the biblical peace that truly surpasses human understanding. That peace is real, but – from my experience – is not easily attained. It requires effort, prayer (especially intercessory prayer), and a healthy dose of grace from the Lord.

I also experienced His love through the scores of people who prayed for me, and offered words of encouragement and hope. Words will never be able to truly convey how touched I’ve been by this whole experience. This time has been one of tremendous growth for me, and I can honestly look back on it and say that I’m grateful for it.

Here is my prayer for today: Dear God, I am so grateful that You are totally sovereign over all things, people, and circumstances. Accordingly, I want to thank You for giving me a good report from my doctor today. Thank You also for the continued support and prayer from the people You’ve brought into my life – including my family here on WordPress – during this uncertain time.

I’m so grateful (and relieved, if I’m honest!) to have received such glad tidings today – thank You for Your continued grace, mercy, and compassion toward me. In Your name I pray, Amen.

    1. Thank you so very much! Sometimes, we can get so comfortable with hardship that we are pleasantly surprised when some good news comes along. I can be guilty of thinking this way. Thank you for the reminder that our God is good and He does indeed bless His children in meaningful ways!
