I first heard about the Bible Project at church a couple of months ago. Suffice it to say, I’m a big fan now!
If you have a moment, I encourage you to pop over to the Bible Project’s YouTube channel and check out a couple of the videos posted there. We watched one on the videos on the book of John at church recently (note that it did not substitute for the sermon or anything – our pastor used it as a way to refresh our memories about what had already happened earlier in the book), and I was pleasantly surprised at how comprehensive and lively the video was.
You can access the Bible Project YouTube channel here:
I understand that this may not be for everyone, and that’s fine. I’d never recommend substituting a video for the actual Bible, but sometimes, creative synopses like these help us to understand Scripture in a fresh new way.
Also, I’m writing about this because I’m genuinely thankful for the Bible Project videos, and thought that someone here might enjoy them, too.
Dear Lord, I hope that this resource ends up being a blessing to at least one person here today. I find these videos to be interesting and exciting, as they help reinforce (and not replace) the understanding that I already have about the Bible. Thanks for the way that You inspire Your children to get the Good News out to people in exciting new ways. I ask that You show Your favor on the staff at the Bible Project who are faithfully serving You with their talents, and trust that You are using their efforts to bring greater awareness about and glory to Yourself. In Your name I pray, Amen.
