Good Advice

After the lengthy post that I shared yesterday, I’m going to keep today’s entry fairly brief. I came across this quote and thought to myself, “Now, this is good advice!” The great thing is that regardless of your faith profession (or lack thereof), this is a simply a wise way to go about life.

Wise Advice

To me, this is the book of Proverbs summed up in four sentences. If all of us aimed to behave this way toward others, imagine how different our world might be!

Strong – not rude.
Kind – not weak.
Humble– not timid.
Proud – not arrogant.

Think about it. Pray about it. Then try to live it out – even though it may seem impossible at times. As the Bible says, “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” And if you aren’t Christian, then consider it a social experiment. After all, what harm can come from it?

Dear Lord, thanks for these wise – and extremely timely – words. I ask that You give me the strength, patience, and discernment to live these words out in the everydayness of my life – even (especially?) when people do not treat me well (or even when they do!). I to pray ths for others as well, in the hopes that we will all learn to respond – and not merely react emotionally – when we engage with challenging people. In Your name I pray, Amen.
